Cause of death inconclusive in Spring Meadow body case
By Conner Hammett, chammett@acnpapers.com
Toxicology results for the body found near the Spring Meadow subdivision four months ago have returned inconclusive.
The body of Gay Thevenet, 47, of Allen, was too badly deteriorated to yield satisfactory results, said Dr. William Rohr, medical examiner.
While several drugs, including a benzodiazepine and an antidepressant, were found in Thevenet’s body, Rohr said their presence was not reliable in determining the cause of death because of the condition of the body’s tissue.
Thevenet had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse and her death was initially suspected to be a drug overdose, said Sgt. John Felty of the Allen Police Department. She was staying over at a boyfriend’s house in the subdivision at the time of her death.
Police launched a homicide investigation after the discovery but have concluded it following the release of the medical examiner’s report. No signs of blunt or sharp force trauma were found in the autopsy.
